- Adding sugar to the baby's food (except in the preparation of porridge) is not recommended during the complementary feeding period of the child.
- Indiscriminate consumption of sweets, chocolates, candies, chocolate cakes, cream biscuits and ice creams, drinks with added sugar should be avoided.
- Use low-salt bread and cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, natural fruit juices, nuts such as pistachios, walnuts, and low-salt almonds instead of sweets, cakes, chocolates, sweet desserts, and industrial fruit juices that have added sugar.
- Use water, natural fruit juice, and low-salt butter instead of carbonated soft drinks, syrups, and industrial fruit juices that have added sugar.
- Instead of all kinds of flavored milk, cocoa milk, chocolate milk, which contain added sugar, use plain low-fat milk.
- Avoid giving chocolates and sweets as rewards or prizes to the child.
