Shoulder is one of the most complex and dynamic joints of the body, which is prone to various injuries, especially in sports movements, due to its wide range of motion and complex structure. In the following, we discuss the most common shoulder sports injuries and their physiotherapy:
1- Rotator Cuff Tendinitis (Rotator Cuff Tendinitis)
Cause:
- Repetitive movements of the shoulder (such as throwing, swimming, weight lifting, chest press and exercises with gym equipment)
- Muscle weakness or excessive use of them (overuse or weakness muscle)
Symptoms:
- Pain in the anterior and lateral part of the shoulder
- Weakness in raising the arm
- Pain when sleeping on the injured shoulder
Treatment:
Drug therapy (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) along with Physiotherapy:
- Cold therapy and heat therapy to reduce inflammation, which according to the opinion and assessment of the physiotherapist, either one or the other is used as a bath.
- In case of severe pain and in the inflammatory phase: use of tennis and ultrasound therapy, cold laser (low power)
- In the sub-acute phase: high power laser, manual treatments, tapering, phonophrosis, dry needling and Tipping
- and finally therapeutic exercise to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles and stretching exercises to improve the range of motion of the shoulder complex joint and correct the correct movement rhythm of the joint components

2-dislocation and partial dislocation of the shoulder
Cause:
- direct blow or sudden movement of the hand above the head
- joint weakness or laxity due to repeated movements
Symptoms:
- sudden and severe pain
- change in the appearance of the shoulder
- reduced ability to move
Physiotherapy treatment:
- Shoulder stabilization exercises (such as exercises with resistance bands)
- Manual therapy to improve range of motion including manipulation, mobilization, massage, release techniques
- Neuromuscular control exercises to reduce the risk of re-dislocation and exercise joint proprioception
3- Syndrome Shoulder impingement syndrome
The most common shoulder sports injury that has its own classification.
Cause:
- Compression of the shoulder tendons between the bones
- Inflammation caused by repetitive overhead movements
Symptoms:
- Pain when raising the arm in an arc Painful
- Shoulder muscle weakness
- Decreased range of motion
The main treatment is physiotherapy:
- Full electrotherapy including the use of all modalities including iontophoresis, high power laser and...
- Modification of the movement pattern to reduce pressure on the tendons
- Stretching and strengthening exercises for the muscles around the blade Shoulder
- Manual therapy and deep massage to reduce inflammation
- Dry needling and acupuncture with tapping

4-Rotator cuff tendon rupture
Cause:
- Sudden movements or aging
- Excessive use of the shoulder in sports such as tennis and baseball
Symptoms:
- Severe pain in the shoulder area
- Limited movement
- Weakness in raising the arm
Physiotherapy treatment:
- Isometric strengthening exercises to reduce pain
- Treatment with electrotherapy and laser therapy and the rest of the modalities with the diagnosis of the physiotherapist to reduce inflammation
- Resistance exercises with exercise bands for Restoring normal shoulder function
