Shoulder dislocation is one of the most common injuries that occur due to the high mobility of this joint... The shoulder has the largest range of motion among the joints of the body, and this feature makes it prone to serious injuries such as dislocation. How does shoulder dislocation happen? A dislocation occurs when the head of the humerus (arm) moves out of its normal position in the glenoid socket (part of the scapula). This injury can be very painful and, if left untreated, can lead to complications such as chronic joint instability, constant pain, or even nerve damage. What is shoulder dislocation?
