Rotavirus is a highly contagious virus that affects the gastrointestinal tract of infants and young children, causing severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. The virus is spreading worldwide, putting millions of children at risk of hospitalization or death. **Rotavirus epidemic in children** Rotavirus is a type of double-stranded RNA virus of the Reoviridae family, which is the most common cause of rotavirus disease, diarrhea in infants and young children.... Almost every child in the world is infected with rotavirus at least once by the age of five....
