Stereotyped or repetitive movement disorder is a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive, rhythmic and involuntary movements. These movements may appear several times a day and last for a few seconds or minutes... As mentioned, this disorder usually affects children, but it can also occur in adults... Repetitive movement disorder is often associated with other neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, mental retardation, or sensory processing disorder. disrupts social interactions, daily activities and sleep of the person and even leads to physical, musculoskeletal and skin injuries...
