If you have ever lost one of your teeth, you must be familiar with the term "dental implant". A specialized procedure in dentistry that not only restores your smile to your lips, but also maintains the functionality of your mouth and the health of your jaw. But a number of questions that often concern the minds of patients is how long it takes to completely cover the implant? Can we expect the implant cover to be ready in a few days? Or should I be more patient? In this article from Dr. Benianian's dental site, we will carefully review the steps of placing the coating on the implant and its timing. So for more information, stay with us until the end of this article. If you need more information about the implementation process of the implant, visit the article What is a dental implant. What is an implant cover? The implant crown (in English: implant crown) is a part of the dental implant that is placed on the implant base or fixture and plays the role of a natural tooth crown. Dental implant consists of three main parts: 1. **Fixture (implant base)**: A titanium screw that is placed in the jaw bone and acts as a tooth root. 2. **Abutment**: The interface that connects the fixture to the cover. 3. **Cover (implant crown)**: The visible part that looks like a natural tooth and is used for chewing and beauty. At what stage is the implant cover placed on the implant? The implant cover is placed on the implant at the final stage of the implant treatment, i.e. right after the base is completely fused with the jaw bone. The stage that is performed after 3 to 6 months of implant base surgery. During this time, the bone around the implant grows and holds it firmly in place (osteointegration process). After ensuring the success of this process, the dentist first installs the abutment (connecting piece) on the base and then, after molding and preparing the cover in the laboratory, the final implant cover is placed on the abutment and connected by glue or screws. **A note from Dr. Benianian:** > ## How many days does it take to produce a complete implant cover? > > After the base of the implant (fixture) is completely welded to the jaw bone (which usually happens a few months after the surgery), it is time to make the cover. > > At first, the dentist performs an examination and molding session. This molding may be traditional (with molding materials) or digital (with an intraoral scanner). > > The prepared mold is sent to the dental laboratory to design and make a cover suitable for the implant. At this stage of the laboratory: > > - prepares the 3D model of the tooth, > - designs the implant cover with CAD/CAM software, > - and makes it with one of zirconia, ceramic or metal-ceramic materials. > > Depending on the type of coating and laboratory equipment, **the time required to make an implant coating usually varies between 5 and 14 working days.** > > In digital and advanced laboratories, this time is shorter (about 3 to 7 working days). While in traditional laboratories, the process of making a complete implant cover may take between 10 and 14 days. > > ## neighborhood to the stage of making the implant cover > > ## What factors affect the duration of making a complete implant cover? > > Exactly how long it takes to make and produce a dental implant cover depends on various factors. For example, what is the material of the crown, what method did the dentist use to mold the tooth, when was the price of the ceramic tooth crown paid, what is the level of laboratory equipment and how many are the number of crowns in question. > > ### Cover type > > The material and structure of the coating has a great impact on the construction time. All-zirconia or ceramic crowns produced with digital systems are faster to prepare, while metal-ceramic crowns require more time to fabricate and cure. > > **Read more:** Immediate dental implant cost > > ### molding method > > If the molding is done digitally (with an intraoral scanner), the file is immediately sent to the laboratory and the time of transportation and preparation is reduced. But traditional molding with materials is more time-consuming and requires physical transfer of the mold. > > **Read more:** How long does dental implant molding take? > > ### Laboratory equipment and technology > > Laboratories that are equipped with CAD/CAM technology and digital lathes can make veneers in a shorter period of time. While traditional laboratories with less equipment usually go through a longer process to make an implant cover. > > At Dr. Benianian Dental Clinic, we cooperate with the best dental laboratories in the country to make your dental implant cover. Well-equipped and quality laboratories, which deliver your dental implant cover to us as soon as possible. > >

### number of dental implant units > > It is known that the fabrication of a single unit implant cover is usually done faster. But if the patient needs several veneers or bridge teeth based on implants, the manufacturing time will be longer to maintain the exact match and coordination between them. > > In this situation, the question is usually raised, how many teeth can be implanted? The answer to this question depends on the condition of the jaw bone, the health of the gums and the treatment plan proposed by the dentist. > > ### The need to match the exact color and form > > In cases where the dentist or the patient insists on perfect color and form matching, the veneer may require additional adjustments or repeat the polishing and staining steps, which increases the time. > > In this regard, some patients even ask: **Why does the tooth turn black under the veneer** This issue mostly depends on the health of the base tooth and the quality of matching the edges of the veneer with the tooth. > > ### Planning and coordination between office and laboratory > > Unfortunately, in many cases, the delay in sending the mold from the dentist to the laboratory, or the busy schedule of the laboratory and their delay in sending the veneer causes the process to be prolonged. Therefore, proper coordination between the dentist and the laboratory plays an important role in speeding up or delaying the work. > > ## Is it possible to reduce the time of making an implant cover? > > Normally, it is not possible to reduce the time of making the implant cover. Because the process of producing and making the implant cover (especially in the laboratory) requires a certain amount of time. > However, in some special circumstances, if the dentist has already produced a temporary implant cover for the same tooth, the laboratory can produce the cover for the tooth in question according to the same model as before. > > Although you emphasize again, this method can only be implemented if the gum compatibility, teeth form and implant position are set correctly from the beginning. > > **Read more:** Dental implant price > > ## Summary of the question "How many days does it take to make a complete implant cover" > > The duration of making a complete implant cover usually varies between 5 and 14 working days. This time depends on factors such as the type of coating, molding method, laboratory equipment and coordination with the dentist. > > At Dr. Benianian Dental Clinic, we can prepare your full implant cover in the shortest possible time (even less than a week) by using digital equipment for veneer molding and cooperation with advanced laboratories in Tehran. That too with high precision, beauty and durability! > > For more information, fill out the form below or contact our colleagues at 021-88539720. > >
