23 weeks of pregnancy: symptoms, tips and necessary care
You're now 23 weeks pregnant, a little more than halfway through....you're probably "pregnant" now, so be prepared for comments about looking fat or skinny or just hoping you look great.
If you are concerned about the range of healthy weight gain during pregnancy, talk to your health care provider or doctor or nurse..
Body changes during the 23rd week of pregnancy
From the 23rd week of pregnancy onwards, along with the growing belly, you may notice some swelling in your feet and ankles....you may have to give up some of your favorite pre-pregnancy shoes for a while....don't be surprised if even after giving birth, your feet are wide and long enough to need new shoes.
The average weight gain in the twenty-third week is 5 to 7 kg. This weight gain may lead to stretch marks in your abdomen, thighs, and chest, or they may not appear at all for a few weeks.. Don't worry; And it doesn't mean at all that you will have problems in taking care of the baby... colostrum may not appear properly until the birth.
Your baby in the 23rd week of pregnancy
Your baby probably weighed 0.5 kg or a little more, is about 30 cm long and is about the size of a mango or grapefruit. Up to this point, the weight gain has been fairly slow and steady, but after this, your baby will start gaining weight in earnest.
The lanugo (the soft, fine hair that covers most of the baby's body) may be getting darker....you may notice this after an ultrasound....the lungs are also growing....they can't work on their own, but your baby is practicing breathing.
In the 23rd week of pregnancy, the baby's movement around increases.... these movements are adjusted according to the baby's schedule, not yours!.. So when your baby starts dancing, when you are lying down and want to sleep, be ready!.. However, remember that this is temporary.
Formation of twins in the 23rd week
Choosing a name is hard enough, but now you have two names for your twins.. search online for ideas or look for name books at your local library or bookstore.. There is nothing wrong or wrong with naming your twins.
One of the points of these sites is that they keep the style of the names similar to each other... they certainly don't have to have the same first letter like Sam and Sally.
Symptoms of the mother in the twenty-third week of pregnancy
In the twenty-third week of pregnancy, you may see the following symptoms:
- Slight swelling in the foot and ankle
- production of colostrum
- Increasing appetite
- nasal congestion
- Khornas
- Urine frequency
When it comes to working up an appetite, keep healthy snacks around. Easy access to healthy snacks makes it easier to stay away from chips or candy.
Nasal congestion is a common problem in pregnant women....this can lead to snoring....if snoring is disturbing your or your partner's sleep, try relaxing with a humidifier....nasal strips may also help.
Things you should do this week to have a healthy pregnancy
If you haven't done this by the 23rd week of pregnancy, get into the habit of drinking plenty of fluids..water is the best option, but fruit and vegetable juices are also good, as well as milk....drinking milk will help ensure your daily calcium intake.
Many herbal teas are safe for pregnant women, however you may want to talk to a health care provider or doctor about what teas are basically okay....There are actually products called pregnancy teas that are safe for you and your baby....Teas made specifically with red raspberry leaf have been linked to a healthy pregnancy and birth.
Adequate fluid intake helps prevent headaches, uterine contractions, and urinary tract infections. Urine that is pale yellow or almost clear indicates adequate hydration, while light yellow or orange-brown urine indicates dehydration.
When to call a doctor
Since the uterus is right above the bladder, you go to the bathroom...you may find that you leak a little when you laugh or cough, or just because you didn't get to the bathroom in time.
Although this is unusual at this stage, some of these leaks may be amniotic fluid and not urine. This may occur when the membrane of the amniotic sac around the baby ruptures.
You may have heard some women refer to a time when their water sac ruptured...during labor, it is necessary to break the water sac to help labor progress...however, this is too early in pregnancy.
If at any time you feel a leak, call your doctor or emergency room right away. Amniotic fluid is usually odorless, so if you notice even a small amount of leakage that doesn't smell or look like urine, tell your doctor right away... Learn more about how to tell if vaginal discharge is normal.
Consider getting a home blood pressure monitor and learning how to use it. High blood pressure can be a sign of preeclampsia (a very serious pregnancy complication).
If you are pregnant or about to become pregnant, you can make an appointment with a good obstetrician-gynecologist or consult them online through the GCORP LLC website.
