Standing urination in a child has the following side effects.
Incomplete urination
For the complete exit of urine from the bladder, it is necessary to put pressure on the rest of the internal organs of the abdomen, that's why there is no such pressure when urinating while standing, and the urine does not exit the bladder completely. Urinating while sitting causes abdominal muscles to contract and helps to empty urine completely.
to urinary obstruction problems in adults
If the child has a habit of standing to urinate, due to the rapid exit of urine and lack of complete urine drainage, the residue of the child's urine, which contains stone-forming and toxic mineral salts and oxalate crystals, etc., remains in the bottom of the child's bladder and eventually causes bladder inflammation, bladder stones and urinary infection. Bladder problems in growing age cause prostate and bladder prolapse and lack of urinary control in adulthood.

- In order for the child to learn to urinate sitting on the toilet, but his height is short, prepare a stool for him so that he can easily raise the height of the toilet.
- Repeat how to use the toilet for the child several times.
- Never urinate standing in front of a child because children imitate their parents.
- Encourage the child and reward the child's effort.
- Don't blame the child, just remind him of the correct way to urinate every time.
- If the child doesn't want to urinate sitting down, don't force him to do it and leave the training for a few weeks and then start again.
- If the child understands the meaning of punishment, for every time the child urinates standing up, deprive him of one of his pleasant activities.
- If the above methods do not work, consult a child-rearing counselor.
