Placental adhesions
The link is between mother and fetus
It takes nutrients from the mother and delivers them to the fetus through the umbilical cord. There is a very thin layer under the placenta that prevents the placenta from sticking to the uterine muscle. If this thin layer is damaged anywhere for any reason, it causes the placenta to stick to the uterus.Caesarean section is one of the main causes of placental adhesion in subsequent pregnancies.
