Learn how Placement of the legs in natural childbirth ==========================================
**What is natural childbirth?** **Natural childbirth** (in English: vaginal delivery) is the birth of a child (in humans) in mammals through the vagina. Natural parturition is the natural way of giving birth in all mammals except for monocots. The average length of stay in the hospital for natural childbirth is 36 to 48 hours, and natural childbirth with episiotomy (cutting the vulva from the vagina to the back to facilitate delivery) is 48 to 60 hours; While in caesarean section, this time is 72 to 108 hours. Different types of natural childbirth have different conditions: - **Spontaneous natural delivery** (**SVD**) occurs when a pregnant woman gives birth to her baby naturally without the use of drugs, assistive devices or techniques that induce labor. - **Assisted natural birth** (**AVD**) occurs when a pregnant woman (with or without the use of drugs or labor-stimulating techniques) delivers her baby using instruments such as forceps. - **Induced natural delivery** (**IVD**) is a type of delivery that includes the use of techniques that stimulate or induce labor and drugs. - **Normal natural delivery** (**NVD**) is a type of natural delivery that can be assisted and stimulated. This term is usually used in research against cesarean section. What is a cephalic display? **Cephalic presentation** (in English: Cephalic presentation) is a longitudinal position of the fetus in which the head of the fetus is down and the pelvis and the legs are up. The most common form of cephalic is cephalic presentation, where the main part of the head enters the birth canal. This method is the most natural mode for natural childbirth, and if the baby wants to come out of the womb by any other method, it will be difficult and unnatural. The movement of the fetus towards the cephalic side is called head engagement, which progresses slowly and is finalized in the third trimester. In this conflict, the fetal head moves down into the pelvic cavity so that only a small part of the fetal head is felt from the abdomen. In this situation, the perineum and opening of the **uterus** are more softened and the mother may feel the head coming out through the vagina. The movement of the baby's head towards the pelvis and birth canal puts pressure on other body organs such as the bladder. This pressure causes the capacity of the bladder to decrease a lot and also puts a lot of pressure on the pelvic floor and intestines. so that the uterine contraction is increased and the mother may feel that the baby is coming out of the vagina at any moment, but it is not so. How is the diagnosis of the condition of the fetus? This diagnosis is the responsibility of a specialist doctor and is done through the following methods: Tactile examination: In the tactile examination, the doctor checks the general position of the fetus by applying hand pressure in different areas of the mother's abdomen. Ultrasound: Using abdominal ultrasound, an accurate image of the position of the fetus is determined. Listening to the heartbeat of the fetus: Listening to the heartbeat determines the position of the baby in the womb for the doctor. If the fetus changes its cephalic presentation for any reason and does not enter the birth canal, there is a possibility of prescribing cesarean section during normal delivery; Because there may be a danger and the best method is surgery to remove the baby. Other things the doctor should check include the location of the placenta and the umbilical cord inside the uterus. A moving baby can sometimes get a leg or hand caught in the umbilical cord, which can injure it. What is the best method of delivery? Many factors determine the optimal method of delivery. The most ideal method is natural childbirth. However, in some situations it is not possible and cesarean delivery is inevitable. As long as the placenta is placed anteriorly in the correct place, the birth can be carried out naturally and there is no danger for the mother and the child, but if the fetus rotates or if things like separation of the placenta or cervical congestion occur through the placenta, it is no longer possible to give birth to the baby naturally and a cesarean section must be performed.
