Uterine fibroid or myoma
Uterine fibroid or myoma =================== ### Treatment methods for fibroids • Medicines: Medicines do not cause fibroids to disappear, but they reduce some of the symptoms caused by fibroids. Contraceptive pills, stickers or ampoules reduce the amount of period bleeding. Progesterone IUDs also reduce bleeding. In cases where the patient's problem is heavy bleeding, hormonal contraceptive methods or other drugs can solve this problem. ### • Fibroid removal surgery (myomectomy): In this method, the doctor removes the fibroid, but the uterus remains in place. It is an effective method; But it is not considered as a permanent method because there is a possibility of fibroid recurrence. Myomectomy is a good choice for women who want to have children. ### • Destruction of tissue inside the uterus (endometrial ablation): In this method, the doctor inserts a tube into the uterus through the vagina and destroys the tissue inside the uterus with different techniques. This method reduces period bleeding; But it is not a suitable method for all women. It is also not possible for people who want children. • Cutting off the blood supply to the fibroid: The medical term for this method is called uterine vascular embolization or uterine fibroid. During this procedure, the doctor inserts a narrow tube into a vein in the leg and takes this tube to the vessels connected to the uterus. Then, with delicate plastic beads, he blocks the artery that supplies blood to the fibroid. As a result, the blood does not reach the fibroid and it gradually decays. This method is not suitable for a person who wants children. Hysterectomy: Removal of the uterus or hysterectomy definitely solves fibroid problems and its complications; and relieves the worry of fibroid recurrence; But there is no possibility of fertility anymore. How to choose the best treatment method? You can find out how each treatment method will affect you by consulting with your doctor. Then, with your doctor's agreement, choose the method that is most suitable for you. For women who want to have children, medication or surgery to remove fibroids (myomectomy) is often a better choice. Women who no longer want children can benefit from all treatment methods When choosing a treatment method, it should also be noted that the symptoms associated with fibroids often disappear with menopause. How are fibroids treated? There are several treatment options for fibroids has Each method has its advantages and disadvantages.
