Symptoms may include difficulty swallowing or speaking, persistent sore throat, ear pain, hoarseness, swelling in the mouth or neck, and unexplained weight loss.
Risk factors for mouth and throat cancer include tobacco use (smoking or chewing), excessive alcohol consumption, poor oral hygiene, exposure to certain chemicals (such as asbestos) and infection with Human papillomavirus (HPV).
Treatment options may include Surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy or a combination of these methods. Early diagnosis is crucial for successful treatment outcomes.
