Crown lengthening surgery is used in cases where gum lift is not possible. In this section, we explain this method.

The gums in the place where the teeth grow are composed of two parts: free gums and attached gums. The minimum height of the free gum should be 2 mm. If the height of the free gum is more than 2 mm, the gum lift method is used to make the gums symmetrical and improve the smile. If the height of the free gum is not more than 2mm, the gum should be removed surgically and the jaw bone at the place where the teeth grow, then the gum should be removed to the extent necessary to create a beautiful smile and sutured in its previous place.
