Strengthening teeth ===========================
The health of teeth and gums shows the health of our whole body. A good oral hygiene routine and daily flossing is a great way to keep your teeth healthy, but it's just the beginning. Real oral and dental health begins with proper nutrition and diet.
We collected 15 ways to strengthen teeth to prevent future decay.
**1. Strengthening teeth with oil pulling**
Oil pulling is where a high quality edible oil (eg coconut oil) is swished around the mouth for 20 minutes. This process helps to keep teeth clean and remove plaque build-up. Oil pulling also removes bacteria from the mouth and prevents it from sticking to the teeth.
When bacteria remain on the teeth, the acid they produce eats away at the surface enamel and exposes the vulnerable layer of underlying dentin. Keep your teeth strong by maintaining a regular oiling routine.
2. Strengthening teeth by removing **snacks**
Eating carbohydrates throughout the day gives our oral bacteria a constant food source. Well-fed bacteria produce more acid, which in turn weakens tooth enamel. Also, it's good to give your digestive system time to break down and rejuvenate.
If you need a snack, make sure it's carbohydrate-free or rinse your mouth with water after a meal. This should help dilute the sugar and help the saliva wash away the acids.
### **3. Eat foods rich in minerals**
Teeth are porous in nature and can gain or lose beneficial minerals. The key is to make sure they get more minerals than they lose. This process is called remineralization. Brushing and flossing help remove plaque. To keep your teeth strong, you need to eat a diet rich in minerals.
- Mineral-rich foods: (choose organic sources if possible) - Organic bone broth (preferably homemade). - eggs - meat and chicken fed with grass - Dark leafy vegetables - broccoli, kale, spinach - mushroom - Cheese (especially soft cheeses) - Himalayan salt ### 4. Strengthening teeth by removing **refined sugar from the diet**
Sugar is the main food source for bacteria that produce harmful acid on our teeth. It is also undoubtedly a contributing factor to many health problems, including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
Removing refined sugar from the diet helps drastically reduce the food supply for bacteria. In turn, this protects your teeth from the harmful acid bacteria produce.
#### **5. Strengthen teeth by eliminating grains from your diet**
In short, grains, nuts, and seeds contain a substance called phytic acid, which interferes with the absorption of the beneficial minerals zinc, iron, and calcium. If you must eat grains, it may be less harmful to eat them after fermentation.
#### **6. Clean up your language**
Keeping your tongue clean by brushing it well during your oral hygiene routine is a great way to reduce bacteria. In addition, you may notice fresher breath and an overall clean feeling.
##### 7. **Eat foods rich in fat-soluble vitamins**
Foods rich in vitamins A, D, E and K2 are known to improve dental health. Vitamin D helps absorb calcium and phosphorus. While K2 ensures that calcium gets to our teeth and bones.
Be careful taking supplements with high doses of fat-soluble vitamins as this can cause toxicity.
##### 8. **Improving digestion for absorption**
If your gut health is messed up, it can hinder the absorption of minerals and nutrients. You may eat the right foods, but if they are not absorbed properly, teeth cannot be remineralized.
Stress, certain medications, amalgam fillings, alcohol, parasites, and processed foods can negatively affect absorption.
Try to include healthy fats with every meal to increase absorption of vitamins A, D, E, and K. Also, use probiotic supplements or probiotic-rich foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, pickles, or kombucha.
**9. Stay hydrated**
Drinking water helps remove food and bacteria from teeth and gums. It also helps to dilute the harmful acid caused by bacteria in the mouth.
Dry mouth can also put your teeth at risk of decay. Drinking water helps to produce saliva, which keeps the teeth strong by washing the teeth with beneficial minerals.
10. **Use toothpaste without fluoride**
Fluoride is a harmful chemical that can cause fluorosis as well as numerous side effects. Likewise, avoid toothpastes that contain bleaching agents as they can be abrasive on the teeth.
####### **11. Chew gum without sugar**
Sugarless gum stimulates the production of saliva, which is full of teeth-strengthening minerals. If you suffer from dry mouth, chewing gum is a great way to increase saliva and promote healthy teeth.
Also, after meals or snacks, when brushing your teeth is not an option, chewing gum is a great alternative. This is because chewing gum increases the flow of saliva, which dilutes acids and helps remove food debris and bacteria from the teeth and gums.
**12. Treat Stomach Problems**
Heartburn and severe reflux can bring acid into your mouth and damage tooth enamel. See a doctor and treat any digestive disease.
**13. Treat Teeth Grinding**
Grinding usually occurs on an unconscious level where the teeth are clenched or clenched together. This process can happen while you are asleep or awake and wears away or breaks the tooth enamel. If you notice that you have persistent jaw pain, facial pain, or worn teeth, consult a dentist.
#### **14. The correct brushing technique**
Brushing twice a day for 2 minutes and flossing once a day can strengthen your teeth. When you brush your teeth regularly, it helps remove plaque and bacteria from your teeth.
**15. Visit the dentist regularly**
Seeing the dentist every 6 months helps keep teeth and gums strong. Your dentist can detect areas that may need improvement as well as early detection of disease. In addition, the dentist can remove substances such as dental plaque that brushing alone cannot remove from the teeth. Articles
