In children, abdominal pain may be related to an abdominal injury or illness, such as an upset stomach, ear infection, urinary tract infection, or strep throat. Abdominal symptoms can also occur as a result of infection transmitted by animals or during travel.

Causes of abdominal pain in children
The causes that cause stomach pain in children are:

Intestinal problems – constipation, colic or irritable bowel
Infection – gastroenteritis, kidney or bladder infection, or infection elsewhere in the body such as the ear or chest
Food-related problems-overeating, food poisoning or food allergies
extra-abdominal problems – muscle tension or migraine
Surgical complications – appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, intussusception

Menstrual pain – some girls may experience pain before menstruation.
Appendicitis is one of the most common reasons your child may need surgery. The appendix is ​​a small, dead-end tube that comes out of a part of the intestine. If this tube becomes blocked, it can cause an infection. Appendicitis can occur at any age, but is rare in young children.
The pain often starts in the middle of the abdomen and moves down the right side. The abdomen hurts to the touch. This is often made worse by coughing and walking around. A child with appendicitis often shows symptoms such as fever, refusal to eat, vomiting or (sometimes) diarrhea.

Differential diagnoses: Depending on the signs and symptoms, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis can be mentioned. Common organic diseases that cause abdominal pain may include lactose intolerance or celiac disease. Other types include irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal migraine, or functional dyspepsia. Abdominal migraine may be considered if the pain is episodic and accompanied by headache or other migraine-like features (photophobia, phonophobia, nausea). When symptoms are transiently associated with food intake and present in the upper abdomen, they may be consistent with functional dyspepsia. Irritable bowel syndrome is associated with stool problems, constipation, diarrhea, or a mixture. In some cases, functional abdominal pain does not fit into any of these categories.
