Deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, is the molecule that carries the genetic instructions for the growth, function, growth, and reproduction of all living organisms. It consists of four chemical bases (adenine, guanine, cytosine and thymine) that pair in a specific sequence and form the steps of a twisted ladder-like structure called a double helix.
The sequence of these base pairs determines the unique traits and characteristics of an organism. DNA is found in the nucleus of cells and is responsible for the transfer Genetic Information is through the replication and cell division process.
