Cholinergic or thermal urticaria is a type of allergic reaction of the body against the increase in temperature, which is characterized by small hives. This type of hives occurs with an increase in body temperature or when sweating during exercise, nervousness or environmental heat. It is not known exactly what factors are effective in the occurrence of this disease. Some evidence suggests that it is due to the nervous system in the skin or an allergic response to sweating. This disease occurs mostly in people with sensitive body and atopy. In some cases, this disease can cause swelling and redness all over the body and mucous membranes, closing the airways, and even threatening life with a drop in pressure. Heat hives can appear anywhere on the body, but most often appear on the chest, face, upper back, and arms. This urticaria appears within a few minutes of contact with the causative agent and remains on the skin for several hours.
