9 weeks pregnant: symptoms, tips and more

At 9 weeks pregnant, you may be used to morning sickness and some of your early symptoms are at their peak. This is because the pregnancy hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is at its highest.

If you're feeling cranky or overtired, or have more sensitive breasts, nausea, heartburn and constipation, trust us... you're not alone.

Let's talk about everything that happens to you during the ninth week of pregnancy.

Ninth week of pregnancy: what to expect?

  • Early pregnancy symptoms are probably at their peak.
  • You may have food cravings and aversions and your mood becomes unpredictable.
  • Your baby is growing: major organs such as arms, toes, eyelids and ears are growing.
  • Heart beat may be detectable in handheld Doppler ultrasound.
  • You should tell your healthcare team about anything unusual and get help for your symptoms (including mental health symptoms).

Overview of pregnancy in the ninth week

At week 9, your pregnancy probably won't be noticeable to other people, but you may notice some changes in your body.. These early signs of pregnancy have really started.

Depending on your pre-pregnancy size, your clothes may feel tight due to an increased waistline or bloat caused by hormones.

Breasts become fuller and their tips become darker.... As the blood volume increases to transport nutrients to the baby, you may notice the veins in your body stand out.

Your child

Your baby is now about three-quarters of an inch tall at 9 weeks - about the size of a grape or an olive... This week is an exciting time for baby: major body parts continue to grow, hands are growing, and elbows can bend... A heartbeat may be detectable on a handheld Doppler ultrasound.

Growth of twins in the ninth week

If you have an ultrasound this week, you might find out you're pregnant with twins (or more!)..

Some women who are pregnant with multiples may have more severe pregnancy symptoms than women with only one child and are more likely to develop pregnancy complications.... Talk to your gynecologist about the following risks:

  • anemia Gestational diabetes
  • Preeclampsia
  • Premature birth
  • Cholestasis of pregnancy
  • Intrauterine growth restriction or fetal growth delay
  • Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, which occurs when one baby receives more blood than the other baby
  • Vaginal bleeding

If you have severe morning sickness, talk to your doctor because this could be a sign of severe vomiting of pregnancy. This problem leads to severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

Symptoms of pregnancy in week 9

The symptoms you've experienced so far in your pregnancy are likely to continue and even worsen this week....your body is really trying to do the hard work quickly around week nine.

These symptoms are:

  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Urine frequency
  • Sensitive or sensitive breasts
  • fatigue
  • dizziness
  • excitability or unexpected emotions
  • Heartburn or constipation
  • Disgust or food cravings
  • Increasing hunger

We know it's not pleasant at all, but most of these symptoms will subside soon... just hang in there.

To combat these symptoms, try the following:

Use special pregnancy bra to relieve breast pain... A sports bra may also help.

Drink plenty of water and eat high-fiber foods to fight constipation and make you feel full.

Get up slowly, don't skip meals and avoid standing up to avoid dizziness.

To avoid heartburn and nausea, eat several small meals a day and avoid fatty and spicy foods.

Before getting out of bed, eat saltine crackers or dry toast, suck on small pieces of ice or sour candy, or choose simple, fast-digesting foods to combat morning sickness.

To deal with the frequency of urination, avoid caffeine consumption and stay in the bathroom for a while if necessary.

Things you should do in the ninth week for a healthy pregnancy

Hopefully you've already received prenatal care, but if you haven't, now is the time....You can talk about continuing to eat well and exercise, and your gynecologist can look for anything unusual.

It may be difficult to eat because of morning sickness, but it's important to try to eat foods or snacks high in protein or carbohydrates whenever you can.

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, especially if you have morning sickness with vomiting.

If you smoke or use nicotine products, try to stop. Smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of many things, including:

  • Abortion
  • Pairing problems
  • Premature birth
  • Low birth weight
  • Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
  • Venous thromboembolism (the risk of blood clots also increases with smoking)
  • Heart defects, cleft lip and palate and other abnormalities at birth

Quitting smoking is never easy, but it's worth it for you and your growing baby.. If you need help quitting smoking, talk to your doctor about starting a smoking cessation program.

One of the best things you can do for your baby at this stage of pregnancy is to follow a healthy and balanced diet. Here are some tips for eating healthy things:

  • Avoid eating undercooked meat, fish or eggs..Avoid eating any type of meat that is prepared from outside delis.
  • Avoid high mercury fish such as swordfish, shark and mackerel... Low mercury fish are healthy and can be eaten to a large extent.
  • Wash all fruits and vegetables before eating.
  • Keep cutting boards and utensils clean.
  • Do not drink more than one to two glasses of caffeinated drinks per day.
  • For all supplements, including folic acid, follow your doctor's recommendations.
  • Take a prenatal multivitamin containing DHA and EPA as recommended by your doctor.
  • Alcohol is dangerous during pregnancy, as it may cause miscarriage, stillbirth, or fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) in your baby.

Time to contact the gynecologist

Most of what you experience is completely normal, but you should contact your health care provider when things get uncomfortable. Call your doctor if the following symptoms appear in the first trimester:

  • Bleeding or muscle cramps
  • Increase in vaginal secretions
  • vaginal odor
  • Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) or higher
  • Shiver
  • Pain or burning during urination
  • Abdominal or pelvic pain
  • Symptoms of depression or anxiety

If your morning sickness is severe or causes any of these symptoms, you should contact your gynecologist:

  • Weight loss
  • Vomiting three or more times a day with inability to keep food or water in the stomach
  • vomiting blood
  • Fainting
  • dizziness
  • decrease urine
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Frequent headaches
  • Bad breath or body odor
  • confusion or confusion

The last word

Nine weeks of your pregnancy may not look like much different than week 8... but on a micro scale, your baby is almost fully grown and ready to keep growing.

Decisions you make to care for yourself and your baby in this early stage will help support a healthy future pregnancy... It's time to get excited and keep making great choices for you and your baby!

To have a healthy pregnancy and child, you can consult with the best gynecologist and obstetrician in Tehran.
