- He has had diarrhea for more than three days
- Less than 6 months old
- Vomiting has green or yellow blood

- has a constant fever or is under 6 months old and has a fever above 38 degrees Celsius (determined by a rectal thermometer)
- It seems to be dehydrated
- His stool is bloody
